The fishery is situated just outside Bridport as shaded blue on the plan.

The River Brit
The Brit is a relatively unknown River. However, Brit Valley Fly Fishery is regarded as being the best fishing on the River being the first non-tidal beat but being below the town water.

The Fishing
Detailed records have been kept up to and including 2006 Season. (EA 2007-2010, no records). Since that time only informal records have been kept but these show an average of 65 sea trout being caught per annum. The table below shows the declared rod catches for the River Brit provided by the Environment Agency for this beat and approximately 300 metres of the river upstream.

By-Laws
The fishery is regulated by a series of by-laws, some longstanding. Those applying to salmon and sea trout fishing can be summarised as follows:

Fishing season 15th March - 31st October for salmon and sea trout.

Method of Sale
The fishing rights are for sale by Private Treaty.
