Angling Improvement Fund deadline 31st July
Angling Clubs and fisheries have until 31st July to apply for a share of funding from the Angling Improvement Fund, administered by the Angling Trust on behalf of the Environment Agency. Awards of up to £5,000 are considered for measures to protect fish stocks from predation.
Since its launch in 2015, the Angling Improvement Fund has made over 500 separate awards to clubs and fisheries throughout England. Totalling over £2m, the goal has been to improve the infrastructure of angling facilities which supports the National Angling Strategy.
Projects included ways to help tackle the predation of fish stocks, replacement of fishing platforms, improve pathways, car parking and toilet facilities and bursaries to over 200 new coaching licences.
Martin Freeman, Partner at Fenn Wright commented “Fenn Wright have acted on behalf of a number of clients who have benefited from the AIF. These are often Angling Clubs or fisheries who would otherwise not have the ability to generate the investment required for vital improvements in infrastructure and facilities.
