Proposed fishery and conservation lake

Astwick Quarry, Northamptonshire - Fisher German

Instructions

The well-known firm of Midlands land agents Fisher German with whom Fenn Wright have an established working relationship with approached Fenn Wright initially for marketing advice in respect of a quarry being restored to a fishery. Fenn Wright identified that the restoration plan should be updated to reflect the current trends for fishing.

Fenn Wright were instructed by the landowner to work with his retained land agents planning department.

Advice

Fenn Wright advised the landowner that although the initial restoration plan was both practical and feasible there was the opportunity to redesign the reinstatement plans to create a purpose built specimen carp fishery, which would have the benefit of increasing the amount of infill and maximising both income from infill and the capital value.

Outcome

A planning application was prepared, submitted to the Local Planning Authority and subsequently approved.

We needed specialist advice on this matter and instructed Martin Freeman at Fenn Wright. I found him very knowledgeable on the subject. He worked very well with us and had a very good understanding of the planners and planning system. We would definitely instruct Fenn Wright again.  Paul Clayson FRICS FAAV, Fisher German, Banbury
